I visited: Jo’s Coffee, right in the heart of the South Congress district in Austin, Texas. This location has all outdoor seating and serves beverages (coffee, tea, soft drinks, beer) as well as a few cafe-style treats (sandwiches, cookies, etc.).
I tried: The Belgian Bomber.
Why it stood out: I love coffee, but I can’t get too into the super-sweet brews (sorry, Pumpkin Spice and Peppermint Mocha fans).
The Belgian Bomber is the less-sweet version of Jo’s Turbo. The Bomber is a milky iced coffee that is lightly sweetened but packs a pretty decent caffeine punch. It’s my kind of coffee. Plus, how can you beat the location? It was such a great place to stop and grab a drink to re-energize. This drink also had just enough girth to it to hold me over until dinner but not weigh me down. Perfect busy day drink.
It cost: Less than $6, I know that. I’ll be honest, Bill paid and I sort of spaced out. I think it was around $3, though!
