Tahini-nut butter

This spread is like a savory crunchy peanut butter with lots of new unexpected flavor and texture. I love the way the toasted sesame seeds crackle when you take a bite. I like spreading this butter on toast and topping it with crumbled feta and sliced pears or apples.

Peanut butter and cocoa granola

Peanut butter and cocoa? Those are some year-round flavors, and this has become my year-round granola choice. The add-ins depend on the season: dried golden raisins or dried cranberries in the fall and winter, then switch to fresh berries for spring and summer.

Avocado, tofu and spicy peanut rice spring rolls

Adding the sauce straight to the rice — rather than serving it on the side — make these spring rolls great for one-the-go action. It may take you a few tries to master the spring roll wrap, but it’s a really fun way to interact with your food. Just be sure to put the herbs down first so they can be showcased through the translucent rice paper.

Salted pretzel muddy buddies

This recipe really isn’t far off from the traditional muddy buddies formula. But as we get older, we sometimes tend to crave salt more than we crave sweet. Think of this recipe as a slightly more mature version of the classic. Another great add-in? Peanuts! (Something I thought of a bit too late.)
